How:
Just BYOEq - Bring Your Own Equipment, actually I do have a couple boards that I can let you borrow but you would have to take turns on using it. Just bring a board and some comfy swimwear that will not fall off.
You can also rent boards/wetsuits @ CHEAP RENTALS.
Then walk the boards accross the street to the beach.
Gear guidlines on surfing for the first time:
For the first time surfer, a 8 or 9 foot foam board is recommended. If you have a fiberglass or epoxy board, make sure that your board is prewaxed before the lesson starts and that the board will float you well in the water. The board rental place can also help you as well.
Lately the water has been really nice and warm, but wear a wetsuit if you like.
Always bring a leash!
